Introducing a new product line is always risky to say the least and unfortunately unsuccessful more often than not for a lot of new lines.  Although we’re only a year old with much to learn, we’re very grateful to have watched POZY Bears grow and begin their great adventure in just a short period of time. 

As of today, POZY Bears are being sold in the US, Canada and throughout Europe.  Giftcraft® Ltd., our manufacturer, distributor and partner has done an outstanding job of getting the word out to a great group of specialty retailers who’ve shared the message of POZY Bears with their many wonderful customers.

  And for all your support…we say Thank You and look forward to many more years!

Over the past year, I’ve met many POZY Bear customers in a variety of specialty stores ranging from hospital gifts shops and garden stores to Hallmark and family owned specialty gift shops.  It’s been a wonderful experience to see so many POZY Bears being purchased for a wide range of reasons.  Some folks just fell in love with a particular bear and simply had to take one home while others saw the opportunity to give a POZY Bear as special gift to a friend or family member. 

I was fortunate to have many folks share with me why he or she felt a POZY Bear was the perfect gift.  One experience really stands out.  I was visiting a hospital gift shop and a customer was about to purchase an Angel POZY Bear.  I asked her if the bear was a gift or for herself?  She looked at me with a worrisome expression and shared that an ambulance had brought her husband into the hospital earlier that morning with unexpected heart problems.  It had been a tough day and still unknown if he would be OK.  She had gone to the gift shop to help pass the time while her husband was recovering from heart surgery.  She told me, “I smiled when I saw the Angel Bear and just know that my husband will smile when he sees it. I really need to see him smile again.” Needless to say, I was more than honored to see a POZY Bear being purchased for such an important time.  I never told her that I was the POZY Bear creator as it was very clear how unimportant that was to either one of us.  I didn’t see her again but did receive confirmation that her husband fully recovered and was able to go home several days later. 

That day reminded me that a simple smile can often be the most meaningful gift one can give another despite all the riches the world has to offer.  With this experience, and many others in mind, I continue to be inspired to create more POZY Bears with simple but yet meaningful expressions and sentiments.

As we enter year two, we look forward to many wonderful new experiences and additions to the POZY Bear line including our first holiday collection releasing later this year as well as our first collection of POZY Bears for the Garden to be in stores early 2013!

Celebrating Friendship! 

There are many occasions in our lives worthy of a celebration.
Of course we all remember those special annual occasions that are highlighted on our calendars and often associated with a cake but we sometimes forget to celebrate the everyday things, our family, our friends, the people within our community that well, make a community a community.

Friendship is a theme that you’ll see in most if not all POZY Bears in one way or another, whether it be the priceless bond we have with our parents, our children, our pets, or those special people we find later in life that just simply make the world a better place.   In some ways, I don’t see anything more worthy of celebrating than our special friends and family who help us to laugh when we need to laugh or listen when we need a good listener. 

We’ve introduced a brand new series called Celebration POZY Bears.  Our goal with this collection is to more fully capture the true jubilant spirit of the many special days and people in our lives, fully embodied in the brightest colors, fully jointed and each holding a special little symbol to help celebrate the person or occasion.  Each comes with a hang tag that can be personalized to your special friend whether it’s the newest member of the family or a lifelong friend.  We’ve introduced 6 designs for the launch and with more designs in the works.  There’s much to celebrate and we hope a little POZY Bear can help you celebrate a special person in your life.

Summer is Upon Us!

First of all, I would be remiss if I didn’t take a minute and thank everyone for your wonderful emails and kind words about POZY Bears™ since we launched just a short month ago.  Your thoughts and feedback are greatly appreciated and highly cherished as we begin to plan future POZY Bear releases.  I’ve also been very touched by some of the notes from folks who’ve bought a POZY Bear for a friend who just needed a little something to cheer him or her up as well as a special note from a person who bought an Angel POZY Bear to be placed by her Father’s urn.

  Teddy Bears really do have a magical ability to help us express feelings of just provide comfort when needed most.  And I don’t want to forget to thank the folks at Giftcraft® Ltd. who are responsible for reproducing my original POZY Bears and bringing them to your local gift shop.  They’ve done an outstanding job at not only replicating my originals but bringing them to retailers throughout the US and Canada as well as Europe in just a few short months.  Their passion and support of POZY Bears is greatly appreciated and the reason POZY Bears have become a reality.  Thank You!

Well…the Spring season has come to an end and Summer is upon us. June is a wonderful month for many reasons and the inspiration for several of the POZY Bears you can now find at your local retailer.Summer break begins for many students, families begin to embark on their favorite summer destinations and the puppy that arrived at Christmas is now starting to grow much bigger than anticipated.  It’s the time of year that some of our most fondest of memories are made whether it be sitting on the front porch with your favorite feline friend watching the world go by or spending time with the little ones on your favorite sandy spot rolling a beach ball back and forth.  It’s the time of year when as kids we start to explore the world around us determined to bring every new slimy creature found in the great outdoors inside for all to enjoy.  It’s also the time that we look back and cherish the most as we get older and we realize that the simple days of summer are often the most rewarding. 
 
Enjoy the days and weeks ahead and remember to take time for yourself, soak in the warmth of the summer’s breeze, rediscover the sounds of nature and lose yourself in the laughter of friendship.

WELCOME to the world of POZY Bears™!

POZY Bears™ is the culmination of my own life experiences and having a career for nearly 25 years in the world of teddy bears. From publishing magazines on teddy bear collecting and artistry, to becoming a marketer and designer for one of the most recognized teddy bear companies in the world, it’s been a wonderful journey that has given me the inspiration to create the simple but meaningful and giving world of POZY Bears™.

I have a true passion for the artistry of the teddy bear as well as the emotional bond they have with people of all ages. The teddy bear has been a universal symbol for love, joy and comfort for over 100 years and often our first true friend through infancy and childhood. From bedtime stories to tea parties and strolls around the neighborhood in the old red wagon, our well-loved teddy bear friend was always by our side. As adults, many of us celebrate these precious memories by displaying teddy bears throughout our homes, finding they still give us the same sense of love, comfort and joy as they did all those years ago.

I’ve also learned giving…and receiving the gift of a teddy bear knows no age. The teddy bear has become one of the most universally given gifts for so many different occasions for the young, and the young at heart alike! From showing appreciation to a friend, thanking a teacher for all they do and saying I LOVE YOU to a parent or child. The teddy bear helps us commemorate life’s most special occasions…birthdays, graduations, weddings and anniversaries. And last…but certainly not least in my book, the teddy bear is the perfect way to share a smile and a memory of joyful childhood past-times and friendships. It’s really no wonder that the teddy bear is the most universally recognized gift for all ages.

Pozy Bears™ are designed to make us laugh, smile, remember the simple pleasures in life and to say Thank You to those around us. Each is molded from an original wood carving and jointed with a unique technique that allow the bears to pose just like an old teddy bear that slumps and tilts after years of much love and affection.
So, enjoy the debut of the new POZY Bears™ collection. My hope is that you and your friends enjoy these creations as much I have creating them!
